RecycleWise Privacy Policy
RecycleWise helps households identify better reuse, donation, recycling and pickup options for unwanted items.
Information the prototype uses
- Camera photos: used only when you choose to scan an item.
- Photo library images: used only when you choose a photo.
- Location: used only when you request nearby guidance.
- Postcode: used to show local recycling rules.
- Marketplace actions: listing drafts, report and hide actions are prototype-only until production backend launch.
The current prototype does not upload photos, sell personal data, run advertising tracking, or request background location.
Future production use
A production version may store account details, saved scans, free giveaway listing drafts, pickup requests, approximate location/postcode and moderation reports. Users can request account and associated data deletion at RecycleWise Account and Data Deletion.
Safety
AI recycling guidance can be wrong or incomplete. Users should verify hazardous waste, e-waste, chemical, battery and council-specific instructions with official local sources.
